I think it is better to do forum posting. These will create a good quality of backlink. It also helpful to get increase the website visitor. Most of the internet marketer are using these strategies to get increase their sales strategies to their promoted product or services.

Backlinks from authoritative sites on a given topic are highly valuable.[3] If both sites have content geared toward the keyword topic, the backlink is considered relevant and believed to have strong influence on the search engine rankings of the webpage granted the backlink. A backlink represents a favorable 'editorial vote' for the receiving webpage from another granting webpage. Another important factor is the anchor text of the backlink.

You can say Backlink is a link which your site gets from another website from posts, comments, forums etc..Backlinks helps your site a lot as Search Engines in terms of Search Engine rankings, popularity and importance often check the number of quality backlinks a site is having and then rank the site accordingly.

I think blog links are more better than forum links because when the moderator or anyone else reply on your blog comment then there are 2 back-links which you get. In this way you can get more back links from blogs.

Forums can be great for niche engagement, but they often lack the credibility that well-established blogs have. It's almost laughable how some cling to the notion that forums are the end-all-be-all for backlinks. Sure, they can offer some quick wins, but if you want lasting impact, you need to focus on building relationships with bloggers who can provide high-authority links.
The reality is, a few quality backlinks from reputable blogs can outperform dozens of low-quality links from forums.

Quote from: psufootball on 06-14-2010, 10:47:08What do you guys think is better for getting good backlinks, forums or blogs?  Personally I prefer forums, but that's just me, maybe it's because I'm just such a social butterfly.  However, I've heard of people having lots of success from popular blogs too.  So what do you guys use when you backlink to your site?

Both forums and blogs have their perks when it comes to backlinks! Forums are great for building community engagement and providing a natural link in context, which can be more beneficial for SEO. Plus, if you're a social butterfly, forums give you that real-time interaction and rapport with users. On the other hand, blogs from authoritative sites can offer high-quality backlinks, especially if the blog is well-regarded in your industry. Blogs also tend to drive more organic traffic due to their evergreen content. Ultimately, a mix of both can be a powerful strategy, depending on your goals!

Both forums and blogs are great for backlinking, but blogs offer higher authority and content relevance, while forums provide engagement and niche-specific traffic.
