Before answering your question, first I need to know if your site is new or old and what is domain authority. If yours is an authorized site, then there will be harmful impacts on your website, rather your site will have more traffic for popularity.

Providing links to other websites would not be a problem as long as both parties is relevant to each other so that it will be beneficial to them.

Hi,

Providing backlinks to other (Third Party) websites is not a problem and google not harm your website if that website is relevant to your website category.
Thanks

I agree with @SteveGood above, providing backlink to a website that is relevant to your website is not at all harmful. But if you do this for all other website, it will result in loss of your website ranking.

If the site has high domain authority and it is relevant to your site then there is no problem in providing the link.

For example: If you own a website related to Digital Marketing and you provide a link or get a link from a Digital Marketing website then it will be beneficial for both the sites.

So, always try to create relevancy while providing links or getting links from other site.

Hope it helps!!

You can read a complete blog published by the Moz on external linking. As providing external links to a relevant site is good but doing it for all the websites will harm your SERP ranking.
