Hi,

I have this new website and I am doing SEO, 2 weeks before I checked backlinks in SEM rush it said none. But now it shows some backlinks to my website. This is good progress, right? But the thing is there is a column called link type and mostly it shows no follow or no follow deleted.So, basically, my backlinks are useless? How can I get proper backlinks?

Search for the more relevant site to your category & in that always go for do-follow sites. You can easily check do-follow sites by accessing it. Make use of tool or directly search through coding whether the link is do-follow or not.

No follow backlinks are not crawled by search engines and hence they are only helpful to redirect traffic to your website from external domains. You will need to build do follow backlinks for your website using methods like guest blogging, press release submission and classified ads to help gain ranking in search engines.

No-follow links arent useless. Well, if they are deleted they are ... But its all about having a natural link-profile. You need do-follow, no-follow, image links, exact match anchor text links etc.

One effective way to find backlinks are looking up your competitors links in ahref (or another SEO-tool)
