Now we know that outsourcing SEO services can be very expensive, however, people still do it. I don't do it, maybe in the future I might consider, as of now I'm fine.

I just wanted to know how many people do it or don't do it and how do they feel about it.

It depends on how much you're willing to spend and what your market is. if you are in a market like weight loss where people are very competitive you need to have a big scheduale.

Factors behind this decision can include lack of in-house SEO expertise, the time-consuming nature of managing SEO, having a large website and the desire for optimal results, among others. This can often include both small businesses and large corporations who either lack the resources to handle SEO internally or appreciate the expertise an external agency can bring.

The feelings towards outsourcing SEO services likely vary considerably. Some businesses might be entirely satisfied with their decision to outsource, particularly if the agency they have chosen is providing strong results. Conversely, others might be dissatisfied due to factors such as poor results, difficulty in communication, or a perceived lack of value for the cost.

There are also those who prefer doing SEO in-house. These are often people with an understanding of SEO and the time to apply it, or those who prefer the control and direct involvement in their online presence.

The key to success with outsourcing SEO is ensuring clear communication, setting expectations, and choosing a reputable provider who can demonstrate results through a portfolio or case studies.

I can provide more insights on this topic.

In-House SEO: This is when individuals or businesses choose to perform SEO strategies themselves or have a dedicated team member or department handling it. This approach is often preferred when intensive knowledge and control over the business's branding, audience, and marketing message is critical.

Pros: Greater control over the SEO process, in-depth knowledge of your own business, faster communication and feedback loops, potentially lower cost if you have the necessary knowledge and time.
Cons: Can be time-consuming, requires up-to-date SEO knowledge and keeping up with industry changes, may lack the broader experience and different perspectives an agency might bring, may not be able to be scalable if the business grows rapidly.
Outsourced SEO (SEO Agencies, Freelancers): This is when SEO services are outsourced to an individual consultant or a digital marketing agency. Businesses often do this when they lack the time, tools, or expertise necessary to implement and manage a successful SEO strategy.

Pros: Access to experts with more varied and possibly deeper SEO knowledge, more resources at their disposal, allows business owners to focus on their core business, can potentially be more scalable.
Cons: Can be expensive, might lack the intiмate knowledge of your specific business, slower communication feedback loops, possible divergence of goals and communication issues.
In today's market, both methods are used extensively. Larger companies with more resources might choose a blend of the two, having an in-house SEO professional or team managing the overall strategy and liaising with an external agency for subcontracting certain tasks or campaigns.

A small startup or solo entrepreneur might choose to do it themselves due to budget constraints but might consider outsourcing as the company grows.

Speaking of feeling about these choices, it varies considerably between different companies. The success and the sentiment towards the choice will widely depend on the quality of the service provided, the communication between the involved parties, and the success of the SEO strategies implemented.

If you are considering whether or not to invest in outsourcing your SEO services, it might be helpful to ask yourself a few questions:

Do you have the knowledge and resources to do it yourself? SEO can become complex. It involves understanding how search engines work, which tactics are beneficial in the long run, and which practices can harm your rankings. To stand out in a highly competitive marketplace, you also need to stay updated on the latest trends and algorithm updates. If you have all that, great! If not, a professional can step in with that knowledge.

Do you have the time? Proper SEO demands time and consistent effort. Besides setting up, you'll need to continuously monitor and adjust your strategies. Keyword research, link building, on-page optimization, content creation... it all takes time. If you're already squeezed, outsourcing can help.

Can you afford to (not) outsource? In most cases, outsourcing SEO services to experienced professionals increases the probability of getting better ROI in the long term, but it does involve upfront costs. If you can't afford to outsource right now, you might decide to start in-house and consider outsourcing later when you have more resources. Conversely, if you can't afford to wait for the time it might take you to learn and implement effective SEO, you might choose to invest in outsourcing from the outset.

Regarding feelings towards SEO outsourcing, it can greatly differ based on personal experiences:

Positive Feelings: People who had good experiences usually mention benefits like increased web traffic, improved ranking in search engine results, heightened brand visibility, more time to focus on their core business, and often an overall growth in their organization.

Negative Feelings: In contrast, those who had negative experiences usually report issues such as poor communication, lack of transparency about strategies being used, little to no improvement in web traffic or search rankings, or the use of dubious/shady practices that could impact long-term SEO health.

These factors highlight the importance of doing thorough research before selecting an SEO service provider, as well as maintaining clear communication about expectations and strategies. In this niche, as in many others, you'll find different providers with different skill levels, specializations, approaches, and budget options. So it's crucial to find a good match for your specific needs and resources. One size doesn't fit all.

Most SEO' companies are a joke, that's one part of my business that I'd probably never outsource. Web design, coding, article writing all safe to outsource but never SEO. Never had a good experience and people charge too much!

Just my 2 cents of course!

Would agree with captaincaveman (cool name btw).

SEO is such a sensitive area, and because it needs to be done safely and correctly you really can't entrust it to others. I mean if you really know the SEO guy is legit and are prepared to pay a few pennies for their efforts then by all means go for it. But for most I think it's over kill to outsource SEO.

Just learn the basics yourself and get your hands dirty! It's not difficult, just takes time!
