Recommendations for paid SEO

I've been working on learning SEO for well over a month now, and I'm getting seriously frustrated. I keep telling myself at some point something is going to give and my efforts are gonna start paying off. Hasn't happened yet. And I'm someone who can learn any new area of computers with ease. I'm primarily a game developer but shifted over to web development for a new project. Had to learn alot because it's so different from how a game functions but I got it done. What I'm asking is does anyone know any good ideas for budget SEO services within the $100-$200 per month range for backlink building? At this point I just want to focus on the site itself and let someone that knows the ropes take over that area. Thanks in advance.

Just starting out. I know I can't expect results overnight but I've been reading and studying for 2-3 months now and still can't wrap my head around how to get backlinks. Which I believe is the main reason I'm not ranking for any keywords at all. I've used many analysis tools on my site and made a bunch of recommended tweaks in the other areas

I guess you need a mentor! or looking for a person who can do SEO for you? I can refer you!

Yes, exactly! Please any info you can give is greatly appreciated. I've gone back to paid advertising I'm so frustrated at this point, and that only goes so far.
