Rel= Use for link

I want know about Rel= what this mean
If rel=nofollow then its link coming from site is no follow but If Rel= void and link then what the meaning of this is this follow or no follow.

rel= - and then nothing - it's coding mistake. How the browsers would read it... have no idea. Most would probably ignore it. And anyway why do you use strting operator if you don't want to define something inside?!?
