Hello guys,

I am new to this forum and to SEO in general. Thank you in advance for all the help you can give me. And if can be of any help I'll be happy to contribute in any way I can.

I'm going to explain the puzzle that is bugging me in the last few days, hope you guys can point me out to the right direction:

The magento non-ecommerce site I'm working on has thousands of products and a quite messy catalogue. To optimise seachability I've opted for a full layered navigation where basically categories are set as attributes and all of the products are in the category "products". Users, by going to "/products", can filter products in and out using those attributes.

Problem is my catalogue's urls are now the least SEO friendly ever encountered as they display "/product?%attribute%=xхx".

I've managed to create faceted urls that keep the attribute name, thus translating the url in a more acceptable way "/products/%attribute%/"

My question is: what to do with the old "?%attribute%=" url? No Index? Rel canonical to the corresponding SEO-friendly one? Filter them out in searchconsole?

I will personally go into search console and tell google to leave them out. But is this the right way?

Have a nice day fellas
