Subfolders and Indexing

Hey Everyone,

I am starting to create subfolders for my site, not including just the standard organization of images. These subfolders are each going to pretty much operate as their own subsite within the main site. They will have similar pages (Sometimes the exact same pages with different URLs) in them as the main site and I am worried the excessive use of the same pages will cause my site to be removed from indexing through Google and other search engines. Is this something I need to worry about or does it matter at all? Please help me out.

Thanks,

C.Rebecca

No, there is no harm in using sub pages on your website (if they are unique).

But I wonder, why are you using identical sub pages (of course with different URLs) on your website? What is the benefit?

And, I am afraid that Google may penalize your website for loading your website with so much of dupe content.

Yes of course duplicate content on the site will be penalized by Google. To overcome this use the canonical attribute in the duplicate pages.
