To analyse a competitor in digital marketing, first check their website keywords using tools like Google search or SEO tools, then observe what type of content they post, their backlinks, Google reviews, and social media activity to understand what is working for them; also look at their website speed, design, and offers so you can find gaps and create a better strategy instead of copying them directly. At Digital Aacharya's Institute, we teach students simple competitor analysis methods step-by-step so they can understand market trends and improve their own SEO performance without using complicated technical processes.

A good way to analyse competitors is to first identify who actually ranks for your target keywords, then study their keywords, backlinks, and content structure. Focus on gaps where they rank but you don't, and look for ways to improve your content quality, depth, and SEO strategy to outperform them.

All the guys who replied before me are right. I do think there are no perfect ways to do a competitor analysis. If you are using paid tools, take a look at their backlink profile. If they have hundreds or thousands backlinks, it will take years to beat them and you'll probably never achieve it if you are targetting ultra competitive keywords.

What do you do in this case... Give up ? Nope. Just avoid direct clash with them by betting on long tail keywords. How do you find those besides normal tools ? Follow the trends, in particular the influencers of that niche. At some point, they'll do some ads for a product or a service. Analyse the keywords you heard and use them to reduce the gap with your competitors.
