On-page SEO work requires you to use a page’s target keywords in moderation - particularly where they will have the greatest effect. It’s the simplest part of optimizing your website and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

I agree with abhijit. these all are necessary points to consider in on page and i want to add one more important On page factor that is "Page Speed". Your page speed should be 80 or more than 80 for good user experience and fast loading of website.

On Page SEO you attract readers by providing high-quality content. The technique is to make the articles as relevant as possible to what the searcher is looking for. It greatly helps if you are an expert on the topic you are writing about. This way, you can give new and useful information to the reader. On page is process of effort that we take in defining keyword, Meta tags, content duplication, domain, title etc which have to follow while developing site.

Some on page optimization techniques:
Page Meta Descriptions
Page Meta Titles
Page Meta Keywords
Bolding keywords
H1 Tags
Italicizing keywords
H2 Tags
Proper image SEO
Proper site wide navigation
Including video on your site
Transparency pages
XML sitemap           …….and more....

I agree that the above are the best onpage optimization techniques, but one need to make a good strategy on how to use this technique before working on them, because it will provide them the clear idea about the way in which they have to move and how they can optimize it well.

The techniques mentioned on this page are very helpful and effective but the real idea behind tweaking areas of the websites should be trying to provide people and the readers with fine, high-quality and fresh contents which are truly useful and original.

Tweaking titles and descriptions and using H tags are all nice but at the end of the day, the real winners would be the websites which have fresh contents that will catch attention of the audience, help win some packs of links as well.
