I only use whitehat ethical methods to get indexed, I believe blackhat spam methods really don't help search results that much.  Blackhat is usually only a good short term strategy for traffic

I prefer White hats as I believe in long tails results. 
Black hats SEO activities are against the norms of search engines. It can be considered as spam and search engine can ban your website.
