Geeks With Guns is an American pro-gun internet group founded by libertarian internet personality Eric S. Raymond. The name is derived from open source philosophy.
Raymond has described the philosophy of Geeks With Guns as being "all about freedom", specifying that it is necessary for individuals to have control of two types of critical machinery: the mindset to defend their personal liberties, and the tools to do so when their liberties are threatened.
Activities
Traditional Geeks With Guns events are firearms training sessions held at science fiction and computer science conventions.
Now the majority of the groups activities are internet based through their online community.
