Search3 is a metasearch engine that fetches results from Google, Yahoo!, Bing, eBay, twitter and from image search engine flickr and allows for side by side comparisons.
History
Search3 began BETA operation in November 2008 and is still operating under BETA. The site was developed by Gustavo Castinetto, Leonardo Rodriguez, Cameron Clayton and David Fireman[2].
The Search3 search engine started offering web search only and in April 2009 added image search and added Flickr results to Google,Yahoo and Bing image search results [3].
Metasearch
Search3 is a metasearch site — it searches multiple engines, and then presents the results to the user side by side. Search3 uses multiple popular search engines including real-time search from twitter.com[4].
Usage
According to Alexa, the site reached a peak of just over 0.00127% of worldwide internet users in December 2009 and in January 2010, Search3 ranked 49,622th in US traffic[5].
